Lucy A. (Gironda) Mastrocola

Lucy A. (Gironda) Mastrocola, 100, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1947 where she built a life filled with love. Lucy was a proud graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. She dedicated over 25 years of her professional life as a secretary with Dr. Edward H. Riaboy, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic and warm demeanor. A devout woman of faith, Lucy was a former communicant of St. Charles Church. She was an active member of the Altar & Rosary Society, St. Charles Honor Guard, and the luncheon guild, where she formed lifelong friendships and contributed significantly to her community. Lucy had a passion for cooking, and her family fondly remembers her for making the best lasagna. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Louis; parents, Vito and Maria Gironda; sisters, Rose and Pauline; and brothers, Steve, Joe, and Frank.

Surviving are her sons, Richard (Katherine) of Camillus, Ronald (Robin) of Camillus, and David (Brenda Romano) of Syracuse; grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly (Timothy Dawdy) Mastrocola; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours and services will be private.

Lucy will be laid to rest in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
